Time Running Out to Register for Moriarty High School Youth Soccer Camp

MORIARTY — The clock is ticking, but there is still a narrow window for parents to register young athletes for a summer soccer tradition just around the corner.

The Moriarty High School “Pinto Soccer Camp” is set to kick off this week, running Wednesday and Thursday, July 29 and 30. Time is of the essence for families wanting to ensure their children from pre-K through 6th grade can participate in the two-day event.

While many summer camp registrations closed months ago, the Moriarty athletic department has carved out specific opportunities for last-minute participation.

Advance payment and registration can be completed immediately by emailing Linda.apodaca@mesd.us in the athletic office. Furthermore, for those who cannot secure a spot via email, a special on-site registration window will be open directly before the camp begins on Wednesday, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Moriarty High School soccer field.

The camp itself, true to the “on time” expectation, will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. both evenings.

Hosted and led by the Moriarty High School Pinto soccer players and coaches, the event is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of the sport. Under the slogan “Learn. Play. Grow,” participants will focus on building skills and making friends. Organizers also emphasize the importance of Pinto character, encouraging attendees to “play with heart.”

The cost for the two-day session is $20 per child, making it a low-cost, high-value opportunity for local families.

In addition to developing youth talent, the camp serves a secondary purpose: all proceeds from the event directly benefit the Moriarty High School soccer programs.

The event, featuring the iconic jumping pinto horse logo, is promoted as the starting point for “Pinto Pride,” emphasizing the community’s connection to the high school team and its upcoming stars.

Families intending to utilize the tight on-site registration window are encouraged to arrive early to ensure all paperwork is processed in time for the 6:00 p.m. start.
