East Mountain Food Pantry to Host Free Back 2 School Bash at Venus Park

The East Mountain Food Pantry will host its Back 2 School Bash on Aug. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Venus Park in Edgewood. The free community event aims to support local students and families preparing for the upcoming academic year.

Attendees will have access to a wide variety of activities, including an obstacle course, bounce houses, face painting, crafts, games, and live music featuring the tribute group Whole Lot of Zeppelin. Multiple food trucks and community vendors will also be on-site, offering items ranging from burgers, snow cones, and boba tea to handmade goods and educational resources.

Event organizers are hosting a raffle featuring several high-value prizes:

• Two Main Event Family 4-Packs ($200 value each)
• Two Ojo Santa Fe 2-Pack Day Passes ($130 value each)
• Two $50 Main Event arcade cards
• One $50 Costco gift card

A wide array of regional sponsors and community partners support the event, including Explora!, Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails, Coldwell Banker, T-Mobile, Graceland Portable Buildings, Youth Development Inc. (YDI), Sandia Pumping, and Main Event.
