Tijeras to Host ‘Potluck-Style’ Easter Egg Hunt on March 28

TIJERAS — A local park will transform into a sea of pastel colors this month as the community prepares for its annual Easter egg hunt.
The event, scheduled for 10 a.m. March 28 at Sunflower Meadow Park, relies on a cooperative “potluck” model to ensure every child leaves with a full basket. Organizers are asking participating families to bring approximately 10 to 20 pre-filled plastic eggs per child to contribute to the communal stash.
The idea being a scattering of the eggs and letting the kids loose.
In addition to the egg contributions, participants are reminded to bring their own baskets or bags for the hunt. The event is designed to foster community engagement by having parents and neighbors provide the treats that the children will later discover across the park grounds.
Sunflower Meadow Park is located at 8 Skyland Blvd. in Tijeras. While the event is free to attend, the volume of the hunt depends directly on the number of eggs provided by the community.
Additional information and event updates can be found at the park’s website, www.sunflowermeadowpark.com.
