Timberwolves’ Vicente Ortiz Named All-State

After helping lead his team to school record 25-4 record and into Class 3A state basketball tournament, East Mountain High School junior guard Vicente Ortiz has been named to the New Mexico High School Coaches All-State team.

Ortiz was honored with a second-team selection after a 2025-25 campaign where he averaged 20.5 points per game, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals.

Ortiz scored 472 points this season including 93 three-pointers that he sank at a rate of 42 percent. The junior also led the Timberwolves at the free-throw line where he made 82 percent of his shots.
