NMDOT Announces Public Meeting Date for NM 333 and Mountain Valley Road Intersection

EDGEWOOD, N.M. — The New Mexico Department of Transportation will host a public meeting on April 2 to discuss proposed safety and traffic flow improvements at the intersection of State Road 333 and State Road 217.
The meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Estancia Valley Classical Academy, located at 110 NM-344 in Edgewood.
During the session, NMDOT officials, working in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration, will present findings from a 2025 safety analysis of the busy intersection, which sits just south of Interstate 40. The department will also outline its preferred traffic calming measures and reserve time for residents to ask questions and provide input.
“Your feedback is a vital part of the process and will help us create improvements that reflect the needs of your community,” the NMDOT stated in its public notice.
For residents unable to attend in person, the department is accepting feedback online. The public comment period will remain open until May 2. Comments can be submitted through the NMDOT event website at https://www.dot.nm.gov/event/nm333-217-event/.
Individuals who require meeting materials in Spanish or other languages, or those needing accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or Title VI, are asked to contact project representative Tyler Pennington via email at NM333-217Improvement@Parametrix.com.
