New Mexico Outdoor Festival and Skills Competition to Debut at Legacy Ranch

EDGEWOOD — The New Mexico Wildlife Federation announced today the inaugural New Mexico Outdoor Festival and Skills Competition, a daylong celebration of the state’s deep-rooted hunting, angling, and conservation heritage.
The event is scheduled for April 4, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Legacy Ranch, located at 74 Barton Rd. in Edgewood. Organizers say the festival is designed to bridge the gap between seasoned outdoorsmen and those discovering New Mexico’s natural resources for the first time.
“On April 4, Legacy Ranch becomes the center of New Mexico’s outdoor culture,” the federation stated in its event announcement. “Whether you grew up in the mountains, along the river, or are discovering the outdoors for the first time — this day is for you.”
A Day of Competition and Education
The festival is split into two distinct sessions, beginning with a high-energy daytime program from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. focused on practical skills and competitive sports. Key highlights include:

- Shooting & Archery: Competitive events for clay shooting, pistol, and archery, alongside a specialized long-distance shooting demonstration.
- Field Skills: Elk and turkey calling competitions, hunting dog and hawk hunting demonstrations, and specialized workshops for kids.
- Culinary & Gear: Wild game cooking and processing demonstrations, complemented by various gear vendors and a silent auction.
Evening Gala and Keynote
Transitioning from the field to the pavilion, the evening program runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attendees will be treated to dinner and live music, followed by a live auction. The night will conclude with a presentation by a keynote speaker, though the federation has not yet named the individual.

Ticket Information
Tickets for the event start at $5.00 and are currently available for purchase through Eventbrite. Interested parties can also access registration via a QR code provided on official event flyers.
The New Mexico Wildlife Federation anticipates a diverse turnout of conservationists, families, and outdoor brands, aiming to foster a stronger community around the state’s wildlife management and recreational opportunities.
