Edgewood Dumpster Days Returns With Free Mulch Weekend

EDGEWOOD, N.M. — The Town of Edgewood Roads Department will host its community Dumpster Days cleanup on Sept. 26 and 27, offering local residents a weekend opportunity to discard bulky waste and collect free mulch.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days at the Edgewood Roads Department facility, located at 20 Municipal Lane. Town officials noted that Sunday operations will depend on container capacity: crews will reopen Sunday morning only if dumpsters do not fill up on Saturday, and gates will close once the bins reach capacity.

Residents hauling waste must follow regional landfill restrictions. Prohibited materials include freezers, ice makers, tires, large metal drums, medical waste, paint, glass, ashes, asbestos, contaminated soil, hazardous household waste, batteries, concrete, and railroad ties.

Free mulch will be provided to the public strictly during event hours while supplies last, at the discretion of the roads supervisor. Those picking up mulch must use single-axle trailers and bring a tarp or cover to secure their loads during transit to prevent debris from spilling onto roadways.
