Grants Hands Moriarty a 7-2 Loss

MORIARTY — Despite a 7-2 loss to Grants on Thursday, several Moriarty players delivered standout individual performances at the plate and on the mound.
Raiden Scribner led the Pintos’ offense, finishing 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Sophomore Micah Kamplain also put together a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Cash Klein provided a spark with the team’s only triple of the afternoon, finishing 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Senior Nick Kamplain contributed a double, while Scott Batie and Tyler Denomme each added a base hit to the Pintos’ eight-hit total.
On the mound, junior Wesley Francis provided a strong relief appearance. Francis threw three shutout innings, allowing only three hits and striking out three Pirates to keep the Pintos within striking distance during the final frames. Rylan Thackerson also contributed 3.1 innings of work, recording one strikeout.
Defensively, the Pintos were perfect in the field, recording zero errors on the day. Tyler Denomme (3 putouts), Raiden Scribner (2 assists), and Cash Klein (1 putout, 1 assist) anchored a clean defensive effort.
The Pintos will look to carry these individual successes into their next home game against Hope Christian on Tuesday at 3 pm.
