Edgewood to Host 23rd Annual Father’s Day Car Show, Marking Route 66 Centennial

EDGEWOOD — Classic car enthusiasts and families will gather in Edgewood this Father’s Day weekend for a milestone celebration combining automotive history and community charity.

The 23rd Annual Father’s Day Car Show is scheduled for Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This year’s event features a special historic milestone: a celebration of the 100th anniversary of historic Route 66.

Presented by SouthWest Abatement, the festivities will kick off a day early with the “Rt 66 100 Year Celebration Cruise” on Saturday, June 20, inviting drivers to cruise the iconic highway.

The main event on Sunday will be hosted at the Walmart located at NM Hwy 344 and Church Rd in Edgewood. Admission is free for the public, while contestants can enter their vehicles for a $20 registration fee. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Carenet Pregnancy Center.

This year’s show highlights a featured 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air and will award over 150 trophies to participants. Organizers have also announced more than $10,000 in total giveaways, including a floor jack and a tool box.

In addition to the vehicle displays, the family-friendly event will feature food trucks, a silent auction, raffles, games, and a pie-eating contest.
