Calla DiMaio Named Second Team All-State; Led East Mountain in Kills and Hitting Percentage

East Mountain High School sophomore outside hitter Calla DiMaio has been selected to the New Mexico High School Coaches Association (NMHSCA) Class 3A Second Team All-State following a breakout 2025 season.

DiMaio established herself as the offensive focal point for the Timberwolves this year, leading the team in multiple attacking categories. The Class of 2028 prospect paced East Mountain with 2.0 kills per set and a .140 hitting percentage, providing consistent production at the net for head coach Kasi Giovenco’s squad.

In addition to her efficiency, DiMaio was a volume scorer for the Timberwolves, recording a team-high 151 total kills according to district leaderboards. She also made her presence felt defensively at the net, tallying 66 total blocks, ranking second on the team behind junior middle blocker Alynna Cook.

DiMaio’s selection highlights a promising young core for East Mountain, which finished the season 10-13 overall. As a sophomore earning All-State recognition, she is poised to be one of the top returning players in District 5-3A next season.
