LAS VEGAS, N.M. — Christopher Moya delivered a career-best performance on the mound while Ty Rector and Brandon Johnson sparked a relentless offensive attack as East Mountain dismantled Robertson 22-1 on Thursday afternoon.

The victory keeps the Timberwolves (5-0) undefeated on the season and marks their fourth road win.

Moya was the story early, dominating the Cardinals’ lineup. The senior right-hander struck out a career-high seven batters over four innings of work. He allowed just one earned run on a single hit, effectively silencing a Robertson offense that had scored 14 runs in its previous outing.

While Moya held the line, East Mountain’s bats provided overwhelming support. Rector was nearly perfect at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with two runs scored. He drove in five runs—his first RBIs of the season—and was a menace on the basepaths with three stolen bases.

Johnson matched Rector’s production with a season-best effort of his own. The senior went 3-for-4, scoring three times and driving in three runs. His afternoon was highlighted by his first triple of the season and two stolen bases. Moya also contributed to his own cause, going 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

The Timberwolves’ pitching staff continued its season-long trend of dominance. Following Moya’s exit, Rector took the mound for one inning of hitless relief to seal the victory. Through five games, East Mountain is surrendering an average of just 2.4 runs per contest.

The loss extends Robertson’s (0-4) skid to five games dating back to last season. Elijah Ortiz provided a rare bright spot for the Cardinals, going 1-for-2 and scoring their lone run.

East Mountain will look to keep its perfect record intact on Saturday when the Timberwolves travel to face Rio Grande (2-2) at 11 a.m. Robertson will search for its first win of the season on the road against Ruidoso on Saturday at 1 p.m.
