Moriarty Pintos speed past Broncos 47-0

Junior running back Mario Romero scored three consecutive touchdowns to spot the Pintos a 19-0 lead, but Moriarty (5-4) was far from done in handing Kirtland Central’s Broncos (2-8) a 47-0 loss on Friday.
It could have been worse, but the Broncos’ coaching staff requested a game stoppage with 4:32 remaining in the third quarter following a seven-yard rushing score by Mateo Manley-Griego.
What happened in between all that will be a bit of Pinto history as Moriarty scored three touchdowns in less than two minutes.

Leading 19-0, Marques Romero recovered a fumble for Moriarty, and Royce Dennison romped 25 yards for a touchdown with 1:44 left in the first half.
Following a failed fake punt by Kirtland, Dennion set up his own six-yard touchdown with a 40-yard run and got into the endzone with 15.8 seconds on the clock.

After the football bounced off a kickoff receiver’s facemask, linebacker Judah Sloan covered the football and gave the Pintos one more play that Manley-Griego turned into a 45-yard touchdown with no time remaining.
The Pintos now await Sunday’s NMAA selection show to find out their path in the Class 4 state football tournament.
