From Silver to State: Timberwolves Trio Claims All-District Honors
The East Mountain High School boys’ basketball team didn’t just walk away with a second-place district finish and a coveted State Tournament berth—they walked away with a trophy case full of individual accolades.
Three Timberwolves were hand-picked by the league’s coaches for the All-District 5-3A honors, proving that this squad is one of the most dangerous in the division.
The First-Team Elite
With no second team in the district, the “First Team” is a “best of the best” list, and East Mountain claimed two of the top spots.

Vicente Ortiz (Junior | Point Guard)
If there was a “Most Improved” award to go along with his First-Team honors, Ortiz would own it. He nearly doubled his scoring production from last year, becoming an offensive nightmare for opposing defenses.
- 20.5 PPG: The team’s primary scoring engine.
- 2.6 APG: A floor general who keeps the offense fluid.
- 2.0 SPG: A defensive pest who turns steals into fast-break points.

Eric Hofmann (Junior | Forward/Center)
Hofmann is the definition of a “stat-sheet stuffer.” While he was the team’s second-leading scorer (12.3 PPG), his impact was felt in every single facet of the game. He led the Timberwolves in:
- Rebounding: 6.8 RPG
- Assists: 2.9 APG
- Steals: 2.2 SPG
- Blocks: 1.2 BPG
“Hofmann isn’t just a player; he’s a Swiss Army Knife on the hardwood.”

The Sniper
Rounding out the honors is Liam Pierce, who earned a spot on the All-District Honorable Mention squad. Pierce provided the essential spacing and perimeter threat that allowed the offense to breathe.
- 10.3 PPG: A double-digit scoring threat every night.
- Outside Sharpshooting: The team’s go-to weapon from beyond the arc.
- 1.2 RPG & 1.0 SPG: Reliable contributions on both ends of the floor.
