Edgewood Lights & Ice Nights Returns, Seeking Sponsors and Holiday Decorators

EDGEWOOD, NM — The spirit of the season is set to light up Edgewood with the return of the “Edgewood Lights & Ice Nights” community gathering on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rich Ford Event Lot.

Organized by Edgewood Connected, a local non-profit organization, the event aims to create a fun, memorable experience for the community. The evening will feature an exciting array of attractions, including an ice-skating rink, festive Christmas lights, and general family fun.

Hometown Holiday Lights Contest Launched

To amplify the holiday cheer across the town, Edgewood Connected is also hosting the “Hometown Holiday Lights Contest,” inviting both residents and local businesses to participate by decorating their properties. The competition features separate categories and exciting prizes for residential and commercial entries.

Residential Award Categories:

• Clark Griswold Award: For the brightest, most over-the-top display.
• Winter Wonderland Award: For the best use of classic white lights and elegance.
• Santa’s Workshop Award: For the most creative display with inflatables, figures, or themes.

Residential Prizes include a Cash Prize plus a yard sign and a Pizza Party for 4 for first place, a Gift Card Bundle to local shops for second place, and a Holiday Gift Basket for third place in each category.

Commercial Award Categories:

• Community Spirit Award: Best display that celebrates local pride or teamwork.
• Most Festive Storefront: Eye-catching lights and decorations that draw people in.
• Holiday Cheer Award: Warm, inviting décor that spreads the most joy.

Commercial Prizes include a Traveling Trophy and a published highlight in the newspaper for first place, a Social Media Spotlight for second place, and a People’s Choice Certificate for third place.

The deadline for contestants to notify Edgewood Connected of their entry is December 6, 2025. Public online judging will take place until December 22, 2025, with winners announced on December 23rd.
