Edgewood Hosting a “Chat with Commissioners” on Jan. 6

EDGEWOOD, N.M. — The Town of Edgewood will kick off the new year by opening the floor to its residents during a “Chat with Commissioners” workshop scheduled for Jan. 6.

The session, which begins at 6 p.m. at the Edgewood Town Hall Commission Chambers, is designed to facilitate “casual conversation” between local elected officials and the community. Unlike formal commission meetings, which follow a strict legislative agenda, this workshop format allows for a more open exchange of ideas and concerns regarding the town’s future.

Local leaders have increasingly utilized these informal sessions to bridge the gap between Town Hall and the public. With several local initiatives and regional infrastructure projects often on the minds of residents in the East Mountain area, the workshop provides a venue for direct feedback without the constraints of a timed public comment period.

The meeting will be held in person at 171A NM 344. Town officials said the full commission packet and related materials are available for public viewing on the town’s online portal.

The town is also emphasizing accessibility for the event. Residents with disabilities who require auxiliary aids, such as sign language interpreters or amplifiers, are asked to contact the Town Clerk’s office at (505) 286-4518 or via email at clerk@edgewood-nm.gov at least three days prior to the meeting.

The workshop will begin with a formal roll call before transitioning into the open discussion period.
