A Valentine’s Tradition in the Making

The Edgewood Community Library staff is preparing for unique children’s event this coming Valentine’s Day with a Build-a-Pal event. It is part of the library’s monthly special programming and is set to transform the new recreation space into a workshop of creativity on February 14, 2026.
The Countdown to Sign-Up Day
Inside the freshly painted walls of the children’s section, the energy is already building. For families throughout the East Mountain community, January 31 is a key date—the morning the official sign-up link is posted to the library’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/edgewoodcommunitylibrary.
Because the event is specifically tailored for East Mountain residents aged 17 and under, there is a strong sense of local spirit as neighbors prepare to secure their spots. To ensure the event is accessible to everyone, the library provides all necessary supplies, allowing every child to focus on the simple joy of choosing their new valentine pal and “making them with love”
Building More Than Just Pals
This workshop is a single chapter in the town’s larger mission of “Building Community with Purpose”. It joins a successful roster of youth initiatives, from the “YES! Summer Program” to “Backpacks for Kids,” all designed to support students within the Moriarty-Edgewood School District.
When the doors open at 10:30 AM on Valentine’s Day, the library at 171B NM-344 will be more than a place for books; it will be a place where new memories are made and taken home
