Free Workshop for Moriarty and East Mountain Farmers Focuses on Conservation and Resource Management

MORIARTY, N.M. — The Central Tri-County Soil and Water Conservation District will host an informational meeting for small-acreage agriculture producers on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. to introduce a new regional assistance program.

The session will be held at the district’s headquarters, located at 2506 W. U.S. Route 66 in Moriarty. The event is free and open to the public, including small-scale farmers, ranchers, and rural landowners operating throughout the Estancia Basin and East Mountain communities.

The meeting will highlight a newly launched initiative designed to support agricultural operations on smaller parcels, addressing natural resource management challenges specific to central New Mexico. Key areas often addressed by the district include soil health, water-use efficiency, pasture management, and access to state and federal conservation programs.

Landowners interested in attending or seeking further details regarding the new program can contact the Central Tri-County Soil and Water Conservation District office directly in Moriarty at (505) 832-1111.
