Village of Tijeras to Host Earth Day Cleanup on Saturday

The Village of Tijeras, in partnership with Bernalillo County and the Carnué Land Grant, will host its annual Earth Day Cleanup on Saturday, April 25, to encourage environmental stewardship throughout the East Mountains.
The community-wide event is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Residents are invited to pick up litter in their yards, streets, or surrounding neighborhoods to help beautify the local landscape.
After participating in cleanup efforts, community members can head to Tijeras Village Hall, located at 12 Camino Municipal, to collect a commemorative 2026 Earth Day T-shirt. Organizers noted that the shirts will be distributed while supplies last.
The initiative is a collaborative effort supported by Bernalillo County Commissioner Eric Olivas and local community leaders to promote a cleaner, healthier environment for the region.
